Cape Breton Regional Police are looking for people who may have information about shots fired on Cottage Street in Sydney Mines Monday morning.
Officers responded to a call from residents at approximately 7:30 AM, after they discovered damage to their house that looked like bullet holes. Forensic Identification officers assisted with collecting evidence from the residence, and with information from the homeowners, police were able to confirm that shots were fired from a vehicle driving on Cottage Road, between 4:30 and 5:00 AM. It is described as a dark-coloured hatchback (photo attached) with a loud muffler, that was also seen traveling on Pitt towards Legatto Street.
Police would like to speak to anyone who has video – in addition to what has already been reviewed – from the neighbourhood around Cottage Street, between the hours of 3:30 and 6:00 AM this morning, March 10th, as well as anyone who may have seen or heard anything during this time period or who has information about this incident.
