A 43-year-old man from Sydney faces charges after he was caught trespassing on Nova Scotia Power property on Townsend Street in Sydney.
Cape Breton Regional Police responded to a call security at approximately 4:00 AM March 1st, who had seen a person attempting to steal property from within a fenced area. Officers quickly located a person matching the suspect description who they found to be in breach of Court-ordered conditions and arrested. Further investigation revealed the suspect had thrown several spools of copper wire over the fence.
Michael Nathan Riley is charged with Break and Enter, Trespassing and 4 Breaches of previous Court-Ordered release conditions.
