Shortly after 5:00 am on January 1st, Cape Breton Regional Police recovered a stolen vehicle on Church Rd in Bras D’or. The 2001 Saturn had been taken from Sydney Mines and was abandoned after having gone off the road. The K-9 Unit located and arrested three male youths ages 15, 16 and 17 years. Subsequent investigation by the Community Safety Enforcement Unit has resulted in charges against these males in relation to this and other recent property theft incidents. 

The 15 yr old male was charged with Trespassing at Night, Joyriding, Theft and two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and was released to his parent on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking pending his attendance in Sydney Youth Court on March 13, 2013.

The 16 yr old male was charged with Trespassing at Night, Joyriding, two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and with Possession of marihuana. He was released to his parent on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking pending his attendance in Sydney Youth Court on March 13, 2013.

The 17 yr old male was charged with Trespassing at Night, Joyriding, two counts of Theft, two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and seven breaches of Probation. He was remanded and will appear in Sydney Youth Court this morning.
