Cape Breton Regional Police charged Gregory Vincent Miller with Impaired Driving/ Fail Breathalyzer, Careless use of a Firearm, Pointing a Firearm x 2, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Use of a Weapon while Committing an Indictable Offence and Attempted Murder x2.

On Saturday 20 July 2013 at 3:37pm Members of the Cape Breton Regional Police Service East Division responded to a Weapons Complaint at a residence on Hinchey Avenue in New Waterford.  Police received several complaints regarding a male firing several shots at residences in the area.  Upon arrival in the area police received information that the male responsible had just left his residence on Hinchey Avenue in a vehicle.

As a result Police located the vehicle being driven on Lingan  Road, Police engaged emergency equipment and stopped the vehicle. The 59 year old male occupant was arrested without incident and was taken to Central lockup.  No one was injured as a result of this occurrence.

Following an investigation by members of the Major Crime and Forensic Identification Unit, police charged Miller and he was remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre pending today's Court appearance, where as a result of further investigation police added the two charges of Attempted Murder.
