Police seek information from area of fatal collision in South Bar

September 29, 2016

Cape Breton Regional Police request the public’s assistance in the investigation of a fatal single-vehicle collision in South Bar on September 25.

Police originally responded to a fatal single-vehicle collision on September 25, where a black Chevrolet Suburban left the road near Highway 28 in South Bar at approximately 1:25 AM. The 40-year-old male driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision. The 29-year-old male occupant of the vehicle did not suffer serious injuries, but was transported to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and later released.

Police believe the vehicle and occupants were in the Browns Lake area for some time before the collision. The CBRPS Traffic Safety Unit would like to speak with anyone who may have been in the Browns Lake area of South Bar within the late hours of Saturday, September 24, or the early hours of Sunday, September the 25.
