At approximately 9:00 PM, Cape Breton Regional Police responded to a robbery on Howe Street in Sydney, where a female in her 20’s was approached by a male driving a motorized moped.

Police charge man for weapons incident

Cape Breton Regional Police have charged the 43-year-old male involved in last night’s weapons-related incident. He was released from police custody this afternoon, on a Promise to Appear in Sydney Provincial Court on July 17th, when he’ll face charges of Possession of a Weapon and Uttering Threats.

At approximately 11:15 PM on May 30th, Cape Breton Regional Police responded to complaints of a male showing up at a club in Glace Bay and pulling out a handgun inside. No one was injured in this incident and at this point it doesn’t appear a robbery took place.

Police investigate weapons complaint

At approximately 11:00 PM on May 30th, members of the Cape Breton Regional Police Street Crime and RCMP Drug Units executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, at a home on Brookside Street in Glace Bay. As a result, police seized a sawed-off shotgun and arrested a 29-year-old male who will appear in Sydney Provincial Court this morning to face charges of Careless Use of a Firearm and Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon.
