Police investigate Break and Enter

July 25, 2013

Cape Breton Regional Police responded to an intrusion alarm call at the Ultra Mar / Tim Horton’s outlet on Grand lake Rd at approximately 1:30 AM. On arrival police observed the Drive-Through window was forced open and entry was gained.

The K-9 and Forensic Identification Units were called to the scene to assist. No arrests were made and police continue to investigate.

Anyone with information about this incident or the person(s) responsible is asked to contact police at 563-5151 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

 

Drug search, charges

July 24, 2013

The Cape Breton Regional Police Street Crime Unit and RCMP Drug Section executed a search warrant at a residence on Brooklyn Street in Sydney Mines. As a result of the search warrant a male was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking in Hydromorphone and Dilaudid’s. Police seized a quantity of Hydromorphone and Dilaudid’s.

The male will appear in court October 7, 2013 for a plea hearing.

Police charge two for drug trafficking

Two men are in Sydney Provincial Court today, facing drug charges from two separate arrests by members of the Cape Breton Regional Police Community Safety Enforcement Unit.

Youth charged for weapons incident at Exhibition

August 13, 2013

A 15-year-old male youth from Sydney Mines is appearing in Sydney Provincial Court this morning after his behavior at the North Sydney Exhibition Park yesterday evening, August 12th. He faces charges of Assault a Peace Officer, Possession of a Weapon, Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats, Mischief, Breach of a Previous Undertaking and Possession for the Purpose to Traffic in Marihuana.

Police stop vehicle, charge man for drug possession, trafficking

August 9, 2013

Members of the Cape Breton Regional Police Street Crime Unit stopped a vehicle on Liberty Street in Sydney this evening, seizing a quantity of Dilaudid and cash and arresting a 38-year-old male and 33-year-old female.

Police charged the man with Trafficking in Hydromorphone and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Hydromorphone; he was released on a Promise to Appear in Sydney Provincial Court on October 7, 2013. The female was released without charges.
