Police were called to the park at approximately 11:30 PM by park security, who reported a group of 4 teenage males running through the park and knocking down light poles. Upon police arrival, the youth fled the area; police canvassed the area, spoke to several people, and conducted extra patrols throughout the remainder of the evening, but did not locate any individuals who fit the description provided by security. At this time, security staff are able to report that the individuals appeared to be 16 or 17 years of age wearing dark clothing: one in a blue hoodie, one in a red hoodie and black jacket, one in a green jacket and one in a black and red jacket.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to please contact them at 563-5151 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

Cape Breton Regional Police will continue with extra patrols in this area, and throughout the CBRM, tonight for Halloween. Police encourage residents to be mindful about what’s happening in and around their properties and neighbourhoods and contact police if they notice anything suspicious or require assistance.
