Welcome to the website of the Cape Breton Regional Police Service. Through the information available here, citizens can gain an understanding of who we are and what we do.
Our number one priority is to provide the best possible police protection we can in the name of public safety. We maintain a strong focus on both enforcement and crime prevention to ensure safe and healthy communities across the CBRM.
Our service is known and well-respected for our community policing model of service delivery. We’ve forged strong partnerships with the provincial Department of Justice, municipal policing agencies, the RCMP, the public prosecution service, our local court system, the Association for Safer Cape Breton Communities, the local health district, the YMCA and Cape Breton University, just to name a few. We've seen the value of these partnerships first-hand and the important role they play in our ability to create and maintain safe communities.
Our police service gets its strength from the cooperation and support of our community, and we know you are vital to our continued innovation and progress. We measure our activities, and hold ourselves accountable to the community we serve - it's about honesty and trust, education and awareness and a shared vision for community health and safety.
Police have a vital role to play in public safety, but we can't do it alone. We welcome the opportunity to work with and for this community of communities.
