Police respond to MVA, arrest man for impaired driving
August 19, 2016
A 33-year-old Bras D’Or man faces an impaired driving charge after being arrested earlier this morning.
At approximately 1:25 AM on August 19, Cape Breton Regional Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle MVA on the 105 Highway in Millville, where a car had rear-ended a truck, causing the truck to lose control and rollover in an embankment. Upon arrival, police noted the second vehicle, which had rear-ended the truck, also rolled over in the embankment further down the highway.
As police spoke with the driver of the car, it became clear that the motorist showed signs of impairment.
The motorist was arrested without incident, and was then transported to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital by EHS for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening injuries. There were no passengers in the motorist’s car.
There were no injuries reported from the driver and passenger of the truck, and they declined to seek medical attention.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage.
Cape Breton Regional Police continue to investigate.
