Vehicle and Structure FiresJanuary 17, 2012 Shortly after 12:00 AM on Tuesday January 17, 2012 the Cape Breton Regional Police and Fire Services responded to a vehicle fire on MacDougall St. in Glace Bay. The driver smelled smoke in the 1999 Pontiac Sunfire he was operating and pulled over to check the trunk where he had a quantity of hair care products stored. When he pulled the rear seats forward the vehicle was quickly engulfed in flames and was extensively damaged but nobody was injured. Shortly after 3:00 AM the Cape Breton Regional Police and Fire Services responded to a report of a mobile home on fire at 3203 Hinchey Ave. in New Waterford. The trailer was vacant and was extensively damaged but nobody was injured. Fire Services could not readily determine the cause of the fire. The Fire Marshall and the Cape Breton Regional Police Arson Unit and Forensic Identification Section will continue their investigation later today. |
