Male charged in armed robberyFebruary 7, 2012 On February 6, 2012 at approximately 10:50 AM, members from the Cape Breton Regional Police Service responded on a 911 call to an apartment building on King Street in New Waterford, because of a report one of the tenants was the victim of an armed robbery. The suspect, who was armed with a knife, stole the victim’s medication and fled the area before police arrived on scene. During the course of this investigation patrol members later located and arrested a 30-year-old male from the Scotchtown area. Members from our Major Crime Unit were called in to assist patrol officers. This suspect is presently in lock-up and will be appearing in Sydney Provincial Court later today, charged with Robbery, Unlawfully in a Dwelling House, Uttering Threats and Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purposes. |
