Police investigate motor vehicle-pedestrian accident

On Wednesday January 25th, at t approximately 6:30 PM, Cape Breton Regional Police Service  North Division Patrol members  and members of the Traffic Safety Unit  responded to a motor vehicle-pedestrian accident at the intersection of Peppett Street and  High Street in North Sydney. 

A 65-year-old male and a 65-year-old female were struck by a red 2009 Toyota Corolla which knocked them to the pavement. The male received minor injuries (non life threatening) and was taken to the Northside General Hospital for observation; the female was checked by EHS staff on scene and released with no injuries.

The 71-year-old driver of the vehicle was not injured; the vehicle she was driving sustained minor damage acs a result of this accident and was towed by police.

Police continue to investigate.
