Police respond to Armed Robbery and arrest suspect

On May 20th 2012 at approximately 7:15 a.m. members from the Cape Breton Regional Police Service responded on a 911 call to
the Petro Canada Store in Bras d'Or to a report from staff that a robbery had taken place. A lone male armed with a knife
and his face covered had entered the store and committed this crime. He took an undisclosed sum of money along with cigarettes.
The suspect then left in a vehicle which was parked nearby where two persons were waiting.
Police later located and seized this vehicle parked in a driveway in Sydney Mines. The owner of this vehicle, a 44-year-old female,
was arrested and taken into custody. She was later charged with Robbery and will be appearing in Sydney Provincial Court on
July 16th, 2012. Police are actively searching for a 24-year-old male who entered the store and committed this Robbery. Members
from our Major Crime Unit have been called in to assist patrols with this investigation.
